Summary

1. Who is responsible

The controller for SightZen is Health3 AG, c/o startup space AG, Wiesenstrasse 10A, 8952 Schlieren, Switzerland (UID CHE-396.908.066). Contact: privacy@sightzen.app.

2. Data that stays on your device

The app stores the following only in its private storage on your iPhone:

Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your iPhone; no server sends them. The lock-screen and home-screen widgets read a summary of your schedule and today's breaks from storage shared between the app and its widget on the same device. This data can be included in your iPhone backups according to your iCloud or computer backup settings, which Apple controls. You can export it (Settings, Export data) or delete it (Settings, Delete all data, or delete the app).

3. Images and reports you share

The weekly postcard image and the eye doctor PDF (Pro) are created on your iPhone only when you tap Share, and go only where you send them. We never receive them.

4. Calendar (SightZen Pro, optional)

If you turn on Quiet during meetings, SightZen asks for access to your calendars. It reads only the start and end times and busy status of upcoming events, on your iPhone, to skip reminders during meetings. Event titles, attendees and other details are not stored, and no calendar data leaves your device. You can turn this off in the app or revoke access in iOS Settings.

5. Anonymous usage analytics

If analytics are on (the default), the app sends usage events to PostHog, hosted in the European Union (Frankfurt). The events describe what happened in the app, for example: onboarding steps completed, whether notifications were allowed, a break completed, skipped or snoozed, a routine started or completed, the Pro screen viewed, a purchase made. They include basic app and device information (app version, iOS version, device model, language) and a random identifier created by the app. They contain no name, email, account, check-in score, symptom or other health answer. We have turned off location lookup from your IP address.

We use this to see which features help people keep taking breaks and to fix problems (legitimate interest). You can turn it off in Settings, Share anonymous usage. Data is kept for up to 24 months.

6. Purchases

SightZen Pro is sold through Apple's App Store; Apple processes the payment under its own privacy policy. To confirm your Pro status across devices and restores, the app uses RevenueCat, Inc. (USA), which receives a random app user identifier, your App Store purchase receipts and basic device and app information. We receive no payment details. Legal basis: providing the service you bought. Transfers to the USA rely on the Swiss-US and EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

7. Permissions

SightZen asks for permission to send notifications, for break reminders, and, only if you turn on Quiet during meetings, to read your calendars. It does not use your microphone, camera, location, contacts, reminders or health records.

8. Launch emails from this website

If you leave your email address on sightzen.app to hear when SightZen is out, our web host Netlify, Inc. (USA) stores it for us. We use it only to send that one launch email and then delete it. Transfers to the USA rely on the Swiss-US and EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses. Write to privacy@sightzen.app to have it removed sooner.

9. Support emails

If you email us, we use your email address and message only to answer you, and delete them when no longer needed.

10. Children

SightZen is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

11. Your rights

Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection and, where it applies, the GDPR, you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data, and object to processing based on legitimate interest. Because SightZen has no accounts, we usually cannot link analytics or purchase records to you without information you give us. Write to privacy@sightzen.app. You can also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or your local supervisory authority.

12. Changes

We will update this page when the app's data practices change, and show the date above.
